PARTICIPATION
Adults with developmental disabilities programs
Foundation For Special People’s year-round services for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities include social events and recreational programs. We focus on life-changing opportunities to foster community involvement, support social relationships, and improve life skills. Located in Los Angeles, California, Foundation For Special People offers monthly events and activities as well as two major annual events.
Each year, through our events, monthly activities, and corporate partnerships, Foundation For Special People relies on more than 400 volunteers. Even after their volunteer service is complete, many volunteers return every year to visit their favorite participants. Volunteering feeds the soul of everyone involved, including our adults with developmental disabilities and staff from various programs. We welcome all volunteers as part of our family!
We can’t wait for this year’s dancers to join us at the Foundation For Special People for our annual ball. Our adults with developmental disabilities enjoy this event of our program and get all dressed up in their fanciest attire.
Foundation for Special People has really been a godsend. I always feel that DJ will be safe and well taken care of like he is one of your own. I've only had very good experiences with your organization. I wouldn't send DJ with anyone else. Machelle feels like family.

The multiple activities offered by the Foundation of Special People have been very beneficial in enhancing my son's socialization skills and in fostering his independence. Staff members are professional, competent, warm, caring persons who are able to develop a positive rapport with their consumers.
